All participants will be required to make arrangements for their transportation to and from the class.
As soon as the brick masonry class is sustainable we plan to start other classes such as electrician, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning and heating (HVAC), cosmetology, computer basics, landscaping, practical nursing... etc.
The goal is to teach students marketable job skills while encouraging values such as accountability, discipline, professionalism, responsibility and appropriate behavior.
We want students to become efficient enough at their skills to be an apprentice, without allowing their, attitude and behavior, to destroy their chances for success.
We are asking everyone in the area to take an active part in this joint venture to save our families, our children and our communities.
In order that we may continue to make the classes free to our students, we are soliciting help from businesses, churches, organizations, individuals, families and friends.
The second project we have undertaken is to provide mentor sessions designed to help our youth define a more positive sense of direction for their lives. Currently this is a joint venture with the East Laurinburg Alternative Learning Academy. We hope to expand this program to include individuals in our local communities.
In conjunction with this we will be working with the NAACP Youth Council to compliment their mentoring and role modeling efforts.As it is said, it takes a village to raise a child. So please open your hearts, and send up your prayers in an effort to help our programs continue to be successful.
