"What does a good relationship mean to me?"
To answer this completely, I'd probably need more space than that which is allowed, but I'll share what is on my heart. A good relationship is one that is built on good communication, honesty, and trust.
In addition, I feel that both parties should be grounded spiritually and willing to keep our creator at the center of their lives and the relationship. Physical attraction may be the initial stimulus, but communication, honesty and trust must be present for a friendship to grow and last through the good, bad, and challenging times most couples face. I also feel that in a good relationship, I would put my mate's needs before mine, and I would want him to be sensitive to my needs. Of course, I don't mean one should accept being abused or mistreated, but I do believe that people have to be "selfless" in striving to be loving mates if they want to keep the "home fires" burning.
As I mature, material "things" are not that important to me, so I would want a relationship with a man who values hugs, kisses, genuine affection and love, over what many in our society deem as valuable assets (i.e. the luxury car, expensive home, etc...) To me, there is nothing more precious than to be in love and have a "soft place to fall" when you get home...... I hope this answers your question. (Author - a good friend)
